With every day passing we are able to discover unknown facts that have supported the existence of homo-sapiens on this planet and have helped them pass through the test of time and reach the point where they have been able to create a civilization. Of these unexplored aspects that is not completely known by us is the impact of the cosmic energy on the lifestyle and the actions of human body. It is believed that seven chakras in our body participate in exchanging energy and hence control a lot of human activities and behaviour.

More than the energy that we actually receive from the kind of food we intake, we need energy that would help us refresh our mind and souls and this energy is obtained by the interaction of the seven chakras in our body and the celestial objects.

Often unexplained but these seven chakras have an impact on the way we feel, we behave and ultimately the way we live our lives. It is believed that negative thoughts and pessimistic view fills in these chakras a lot of negative energy which makes you feel restless and uncomfortable in unknown situations while positive thoughts and optimistic views help in maintaining positive energy and hence help a person to perform better even under unknown circumstances.

Each chakra plays its part in controlling and regulating a particular organ or habit that we possess, also the level of impact the chakras would have on their specified body part or behaviour would be different from each other.

The seven chakras that have a huge impact on our existence and on our actions can be further explained in details as follows.

The first chakra that lies towards the end of the spine is known as the root chakra, its impact is clearly visible on the character of the person, while the chakra has positive energy it develops the characteristics of strong will and determination. This chakra helps to control the organs in the lower abdomen, especially the intestine and other organs.

Above the root chakra is the genital chakra, it assists the human attempts to avoid greed, lust and other things that are referred as worldly pleasures as well as helps you to get out of narrow mindedness. If the chakra is inclined towards the wrong end then cruelty and ignorance are features that develop.

The third chakra that helps regulate the functions and the activities of the stomach and other important organs of digestion, is referred to as the umbilical chakra. It helps to maintain a good balance of mind so as to help in decision making. On the negative side it has an impact on the thoughts leading to the arousing of feelings that result from an unstable mind.

The fourth chakra from the bottom is the heart chakra that is responsible for the generation of various emotions as well as inspires feelings of liking and admiration. As the name suggests it has firm control over the human heart and if filled with negativity can lead to feelings of hatred and hypocrisy.

Above the heart chakra is the fifth chakra referred to as the throat chakra, it controls the way we speak as well as what we speak. It helps to regulate critical organs including the mouth and the lungs.

The next is the third eye chakra. You tend to develop impressions and make perceptions due to the chakra referred as the third eye chakra and it is very important for a person!

The last chakra is called the crown chakra and it deals with taking ones own self to the divine path and reaching a stage of enlightenment.

You have heard about lucid dreaming and think it is something you would like to do. That is a good starting point but exactly how do you begin and what are the steps to being a successful lucid dreamer?

You also need to think about exactly why you want to become a lucid dreamer. What are the benefits of dreaming lucidly? To help us find the benefits, let us first look at \’normal\’ sleep.

When you go to sleep, you get into bed, close your eyes for a certain length of time, and either dream or just see black for a few hours and then wake up! It isn\’t very interesting now is it?

Instead of having to observe passively, you could be the person who leads your dream to be whatever you would like.

Consider the idea of taking control of your own dreams. What would it feel like to purpose what direction your dreams would take you? Explore new worlds that are only limited to your control and imagination. This is what it means to be a lucid dreamer, kind of the ultimate fantasy world where you call all the shots.

If you want to become a lucid dreamer, there are two major ways to accomplish it. The first way is called DILD, or dream-initiated lucid dream. That\’s when you\’re in the process of having a dream, realize that it\’s happening, and retain your sense of consciousness inside the dream.

The second method is called WILD, and stands for wake-initiated lucid dream. This is when you start out awake and fall asleep, but do not experience a change in consciousness levels. This is the process of simply entering a dream, the same way you\’d walk through a door, instead of waking up inside the dream.

How exactly do you induce either one of these lucid dream states?

Dream Recall

If you\’re interested in being a lucid dreamer, one of the most successful methods you can use is dream recall. This is the ability to remember your dreams. By developing this ability, you\’ll be more readily able to recognize them while you\’re asleep. That\’s because you\’re likely to have the same dream or dream elements on more than one occasion.

One way to practice dream recall is by keeping a dream journal. This is a tool in which you write down anything you can remember about a given dream, so you can easily recall it in the future. Do this right after you wake up, since dreams become harder to remember over time.

Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams (MILD)

This technique was developed by Dr. Stephen LaBerge, one of lucid dreaming\’s lead scientists. The method used here is telling yourself that you\’ll remember something in your dream. Once in the dream, you\’ll see this object, recall what you told yourself, and realize you\’re dreaming.

Wake-Back-to-Bed (WBTB)

To use the wake back to bed method you need do little initially beyond setting your clock to wake you up. Set your clock for about five hours sleep give or take an hour, once the alarm goes off get up and do something. Read a book, your dream journal anything but going back to sleep, after approximately an hour you may go back to bed.

According to Stephen LaBerge, there is a 60% success rate of this technique. The reason why is that you would have woken up during the process of sleep, meaning that your mind is not fully aware of this, and are still in the middle of REM cycle. So basically, it\’s like going to your mind and telling it that you want to lucid dream.

Cycle Adjustment Technique

This was created by Daniel Love, and what it is, is setting your alarm to wake you up an hour and a half before your normal time. Once you\’ve adjusted to waking up early, alternate your alarm to wake you up normally and early. During times you are to wake up normally, you\’re body will already be ready to wake up early, and therefore, you will be likely to be awake in your dream.

Wake-Initiation of Lucid Dream (WILD)

This method was described before. If you would like to achieve a lucid dream this way, all you have to do is to keep your mind awake while you body falls asleep. This is perhaps the most interesting way of entering a lucid dream. It is as if you are getting ready to watch a movie. You are in the real world, you sit on your couch, you turn on the TV and press play (starting to sleep), the screen is black (in the same way as when your eyes are closed), and all you have to do is wait for the movie to actually start.

Several ways to stay aware but not awake include imagining descending or going up stairs, chanting, counting, breathing control, counting your breaths, and relaxing your body from head to toe. This all falls under self hypnosis. Don\’t do this when you\’re tired, or you\’ll simply fall unconscious.

Recent technological advances mean that dreaming masks and other useful devices have been developed. They contain strobe lights and other devices that are believed to induce lucid dreaming.

The most reliable and easiest way of inducing a lucid dream may be listening to binaural beats sound frequencies through headphones.

The sounds bring the two sides of the brain in synch. Your brainwaves are then converted to REM waves the time during sleep when you dream and the frequency at which lucid dreams occur.

Combined with the self hypnosis sessions and affirmations to prepare your subconscious mind beforehand, becoming a lucid dreamer is something that everyone can now experience!

Going off to college can be an exhilarating time, as long as you’ve done your homework first. One way to alleviate as much stress as possible is to make sure that you’ve chosen a college that will be a good fit for your needs and expectations. A campus visit is the best way to do just that. Take along this list of questions, both academic and social, to look into while there.

1. What is the school like for freshmen? For example, if first-year students live in dorms, are advisers readily available to help make your transition easier? What about academics – do all freshmen get assigned to a student adviser? What level of teacher leads freshman classrooms? Are the class sizes small enough to allow for inclusion?

2. What is the breakdown of costs from start to finish? Are any types of financial aid or student loans available and if so, how do you get started? Are student jobs available within the university?

3. Classroom aside, what is the general lifestyle for students in the community? Do you see plenty of things to do? Can you tell where you might shop or do laundry? How about restaurants and sporting facilities? Do most students walk, take public transportation or would you need to bring a car? If so, is there ample parking?

4. Press the college for graduation statistics. For example, how many students find work in their field of study right after college? Does the university offer any alumni support or internships?

Don’t be afraid to find students and ask them any remaining questions you may have. They may give you a different view of things like how easy (or difficult) it is to meet with faculty or get into the classes you want. They can also give you an idea on what dorm to choose, which cafeteria meal plan is practical and what social events to look forward to throughout the year.

Once you get home, review your experience carefully and then follow you instincts. Hopefully you’ll have a pretty good idea of what college life will be like at each of the campuses you visited and your decision will come a bit easier. Good luck!

by Marion Jones

In the last decade, home schooling has become extremely popular especially among middle and upper-middle class families. There have been many arguments before about home schooling. Experts say that there are advantages as well as disadvantages in home schooling but it seems that the former outweigh the latter and so, a lot of families are now choosing home schooling over normal schools.

Cultures vary enormously and relationships within families are strongly affected by culture too. In some cultures, family bonds are quite strong, but there are also those who don’t have very good relationships with other family members at all. However, through home schooling, family relationships can be improved. Parents have to spend more time with their children because of the home schooling program and the children will have to listen to their parents too. Communication is much improved and both parties have to learn about the importance of both speaking and listening.

A lot of families opt for home schooling because of its diversity. However, since the cost of home education is a bit higher than normal schools, the financial standing of the household is very important. However, even without thinking about money, many parents will still go for home schooling, because it can guarantee their children’s safety. Public schools often have dangerous environments that can influence children enormously, but if they are in a home schooling program, they can stay away from these predicaments and their parents will be there to supervise them.

Rather than enrolling the kids at a public school, many parents prefer home schooling because the learning environment in the public schools is not that good. In public schools, very young pupils may experience difficulties that can affect them socially, mentally, and academically for a long time. Experts who have conducted surveys, claim that children learn better in a good environment surrounded by loved ones. A further benefit of home schooling is that children can learn according to their ability. You can’t just deliver a new lesson, if the previous one hasn’t been learned yet. It may take longer, but the results are definitely better.

As mentioned previously, home schooling is a bit more costly. If you think that you can cut down the educational expenses of your child, you’re wrong. Home schooling expenses are just about the same as those of traditional schools. However, if you participate in the forums of the parents of home-schoolers, you will discover that there are ways to reduce costs. Of course, you will have to spend on the resource materials, computer, and internet, but you can also use outside resources like cultural events, public libraries and many others.

You will be given even more cost-cutting ideas, if you contact other parents. The Internet provides endless opportunities and with a bit of homework, you can definitely come up with ways to ease the costs. If you don’t want to hire tutors, then you will have to learn the lessons as well, however, you have already studied the various subjects in your kids’ educational program, so you only need to review them. You can get further learning material online or the bookshop and later on, educate your kids.

So, it is obvious, that home schooling is far and away the best option, especially if your child is still rather young. So, it all depends on you and your kid, whether they continue this type of schooling until they graduate for college.

Remote viewing is an innate psychic talent which every person possesses the potential to develop. When remote viewing, you can see places, things and people who you would not be able to see with your eyes or detect with your other four senses. However, once you learn to remote view you will be able to see things which you cannot be within visual range of.

Unlike astral travel and some other psychic abilities, while remote viewing your spiritual and physical body will stay in the same place. You are able to see any place, person or thing you wish while your body, mind and spirit stay at home.

Remote viewing is something like dowsing in that you use your psychic powers to seek out the object of your remote viewing. It’s a form of extra sensory perception where you can view any place in the world.

All of us possess psychic abilities which we have not yet developed. We use only about 10% of our brains; meaning that there’s a lot of untapped potential which we can do many things with if we can learn to use these undeveloped abilities.

There are many practical applications for remote viewing, such as making sure that your children are safe and sound when you’re away. Remote viewing can add to your security and give you the peace of mind that comes from knowing that everything is OK.

What makes remote viewing different to other forms of psychic abilities is that anyone can learn how to do it. Studies on many non-psychic people have shown that once these people had been taught to enter into a sufficient trance-like state, they were able to engage in remote viewing with high levels of accuracy.

Here are some simple remote viewing techniques you can try on your own:

*Find a quiet place where you will not be distracted and sit comfortably. Close your eyes and relax.

*Relax and breathe deeply through your nose. You will find your breathing may be easier to control if you press your tongue lightly to the roof of your mouth. This will also curb your tendency to yawn during this phase.

*Believe in yourself and your remote viewing abilities. You need to tell yourself that you can and will be able to remotely view things which your senses would not let you normally perceive.

*Begin with an easy subject for your first attempts at remote viewing. Try to see yourself sitting right where you are as if you were standing in front of yourself a few feet away. It can be challenging to see yourself at first; we’re not used to seeing ourselves except in a mirror. Just stay focused and be patient and soon you’ll be able to see yourself from an entirely new perspective.

*Once you’re able to see yourself while remote viewing, you need to begin looking at places which are farther away. Start with a place which you are already familiar with, such as the house where you grew up. Best of all is to remote view a friend or relative’s home. Keep an eye out for details and when you’re finished remote viewing, call and compare notes; find out if the details you saw while remote viewing are really there. This exercise lets you assess your progress as a remote viewer.

You can then progress to more advanced exercises. Have a friend sit at their home or in another room in your home and ask them to perform a simple movement while you try to see what they’re doing through your remote viewing abilities. Ask your friend afterwards to see if you have been able to get an accurate picture; again, reinforcement is valuable when you’re trying to learn to remote view.

Once you have spent some time practicing your remote viewing techniques you may find that it’s much easier and quicker to get yourself into a relaxed state. This state is very similar to the trance-like relaxation people achieve under hypnosis. Even though they are still wide awake, the body is relaxed enough to access the sub-conscious mind.

Our psychic abilities are much more easily accessible via the sub-conscious, so the more you practice your remote viewing techniques, the better you’ll become.

Remote viewing is the psychic ability that pertains to the ability to see places, people, and objects that are not within the range of the outer five senses. This means you wouldn’t be able to see or hear it by natural means, but your own innate psychic ability can be trained to perceive things without you needing to be there in person.

Remote viewing is something entirely different from astral travel and other out of body experiences. Your spiritual body doesn’t need to go anywhere; you can see distant people places and things from where you are.

Remote viewing is something like dowsing in that you use your psychic powers to seek out the object of your remote viewing. It’s a form of extra sensory perception where you can view any place in the world.

We only use about 10% of our brains in everyday life. There are vast regions of the brain whose potential goes untapped and are not even entirely understood. Our psychic abilities are in there; and with some practice, they can be developed and used.

Imagine being able to reach out and just know that your children are okay while they’re away from family. The security and peace of mind that comes with being able to use remote viewing for beneficial needs is priceless.

Remote viewing is one of the psychic abilities latent in all of us which can be developed through practice and preparation. There have been studies on people who had never before exhibited any psychic abilities; but when they were taught how to attain the trance-like state of relaxation needed for remote viewing, they were able to use this psychic ability.

To start training yourself in remote viewing abilities, these techniques are helpful:

*Find a quiet place where you will not be distracted and sit comfortably. Close your eyes and relax.

*Take deep breaths through the nose. You can get better control over your breathing by holding your tongue at the roof of your mouth. This will also suppress yawns as you relax deeply.

*In order to succeed in remote viewing, you need to believe in your abilities. You have to believe that you can and will see people, places and things which you cannot see with your eyes.

*Start off with an easy object for your remote viewing to test your abilities. Try looking at yourself from across the room, as if you were watching yourself in a mirror. This is something which can be difficult to do at first; but focus and be patient with yourself. You’ll be pleasantly surprised how quickly you’ll learn to be able to see yourself from the perspective others see you.

*After being able to view yourself remotely, it’s time to start looking a little farther afield. Try remote viewing a place which you are familiar with. You could try viewing a relative’s home or your office. Look for the details and once you’ve finished your remote viewing session, call and ask if the things you’ve seen are as you saw them in your remote viewing. This is important, since you’ll be able to know how you’re progressing with your remote viewing training.

It is possible to amend these remote viewing exercises to include two people so that you’ll have your feedback and results much more quickly. Instead of viewing places or people you want to see, have a friend sit in another room and repeat a simple movement, like a hand wave or pulling hair. Try to determine through your remote viewing exercises what action your friend is repeating and compare notes to get your results.

After having practiced remote viewing for some time, you’ll find your abilities improving and that you’ll have a much easier time bringing yourself into the proper state of relaxation for remote viewing. It’s similar to a hypnotic state; even with your body and mind relaxed enough to allow the subconscious to operate, you are still awake and aware.

Our psychic abilities are much more easily accessible via the sub-conscious, so the more you practice your remote viewing techniques, the better you’ll become.

In recent years, home schooling has become extremely popular especially with the middle and upper-middle class families. There have been lots of arguments before about home schooling. Experts claim that there are pros and cons in home schooling but it seems that the former outweigh the latter and therefore, a lot of families are now selecting home schooling over the traditional schools.

Cultures vary a lot and relationships within families are strongly affected by culture too. In some cultures, family bonds are quite strong, but there are also those who don’t have very good bonds with other family members at all. However, by home schooling, family relationships are enhanced. Parents have to spend more time with their kids because of the home schooling program and the children will have to listen to their parents as well. Communication is much improved and both parties will learn about the importance of both speaking and listening.

Many families prefer home schooling because of its diversity. However, since the cost of home education is a bit more than normal schools, the financial situation of the family is quite important. However, even without thinking about the financial factor, many parents would still opt for home schooling, because it can ensure their children’s safety. Public schools often have dangerous environments that can affect kids enormously, however if they are in a home schooling program, they can avoid these predicaments and their parents will be there to guide them.

Rather than enrolling the children at a public school, many parents prefer home schooling because the educational environment in the public schools is not that good. In public schools, very young pupils can experience difficulties that can affect them socially, mentally, and academically for a long time. Experts that have conducted studies, claim that children learn better in a good environment surrounded by loved ones. A further benefit of home schooling is that children can learn according to their ability. You can’t just deliver a new lesson, if the previous one hasn’t been learned yet. It may take longer, but the results are definitely better.

As stated earlier, home schooling is a tad more expensive. However, if you think that you might be able to cut down on your child’s educational expenses, you’re probably wrong. Home schooling expenses are almost the equal to those of traditional schools. However, if you join in the forums of the parents of home-schoolers, you will find that there are ways to reduce costs. Of course, you will need to spend on the resource materials, computer, and internet, but you can also visit external resources like cultural do’s, public libraries, etc..

You will be given even more cost-saving ideas, if you get in touch with other parents. The Internet offers numerable opportunities and with a bit of research, you can surely come up with ways to ease the costs. If you don’t want to pay for teachers, then you will have to learn the lessons too, however, you have already studied the various subjects in your kids’ educational program, so you only need to review them. You can get further learning material online or the bookshop and later on, educate your children.

Therefore, it is obvious, that home schooling is far and away the best option, particularly if your child is still quite young. So, it all depends on you and your child, whether they continue this type of schooling until they graduate for college.
