Diabetes has long been a challenge to many with little hope of living a comfortable/long life. However, one can get very useful Calories for managing it today. Managing diabetes is the only way to live longer. Natural nutrition and monitored diet are the best ways to have a healthy life naturally while living with diabetes.
Regular exercises are necessary both for the diabetics and non-diabetics. It is a healthy way to control one’s weight hence the effective management of the condition. It has been shown that type 2 diabetes can be avoided by living a healthy and disciplined lifestyle. Exercising at least twice a week will help maintain low blood sugar and a good blood circulation.
Daily control of blood sugar will help minimize the chances of developing microvascular conditions like eye problems, nerve and kidney conditions. Patients suffering from type 1 diabetes also get protection from macrovascular complications including heart attack and stroke or even death. Patients who have progressed heart and vascular problems, however, cannot benefit from the glucose control regime.
Monitoring the sugar level is so important for those using insulin injections since the extremes of blood sugar levels could be detrimental. In addition to the tight control of blood glucose levels, one should ensure they know how to recognize the effects of low blood sugar. One should also be knowledgeable in ways of improving the blood glucose level, since it may save a life. Each individual should determine their own normal sugar levels. It is due to the fact that there is no standard for all persons.
Everyone should watch what they eat so as to avoid the risk factors relating to diabetes, these include heart problems, high blood pressure among others. Nutrition Facts provides the guidelines on what to eat and what to avoid, this will ensure the blood pressure is maintained at below 130/80. Cholesterol levels in the blood will also be maintained below 100 mg per dL; such healthy living has long term health benefits to diabetics and non-diabetics persons.
People should learn to avoid refined foods, especially carbohydrates. These will release glucose into the blood stream very quickly aggravating the diabetes. This will also result in cells being resistant to insulin complicating the problem. High fiber foods with complex carbohydrates are the best diet both for diabetics and norm healthy people.
Eating foods with saturated fats found in animal meat, milk products and eggs, will have health effects over time. People should have the discipline of eating healthy fats, the unsaturated fats that can be found in some fish and plant oils. These will ensure healthy vasculature hence minimizing heart problems.

Here I’m gonna explore what the difference is between krill oil vs fish oil since many people seem to be confused because they’re both sources of Omega 3 fatty acid awesomeness.
But, they certainly differ in some crucial ways which I’ll explain here.
Regarding price, fish oil is less expensive of the two. However, krill is more efficient, gram for gram, so that should even out the price just a little.
But when money is tight, fish oil or simply quality foods with normal levels of Omega 3 (fish, pastured eggs, and so forth.) are the way to go.
The main difference between the two is how the Omega-3 fatty acids are bound to the compounds of the oil. In fish oil, they come in the form of triglycerides (fat), but in krill oil they are bound to phospholipids (mostly phosphatidylcholine).
Phospholipids are what forms the double layer, which in turn comprises the cell membranes of our body. If you do not understand what it means, then you need to watch this video demonstration as it is very fundamental and quite enlightening as well.
This might be the reason the Omega 3s in Krill oil are much better absorbed/more potent than those in fish oil.
There have not been that many studies where krill oil has been analyzed against fish oil specifically, but there are three that I could find.
In a test, it shows that krill oil is far more beneficial for ladies with premenstrual syndrome or pms and ladies who are presently experiencing dysmenorrheal.
One more test shows that krill oil makes a larger impact on the hyperlipidemia in comparison to fish oil, as it reduces Ldl cholesterol and increases HDL cholesterol.
It does seem that krill oil is a much more beneficial source of Omega 3s, and you should take a look at my article on the great things about krill oil to read more.
Krill oil contains an antioxidant molecule named Astaxanthin, which has several health benefits. This Astaxanthin anti-oxidant will be discussed on another post later.
Fish oil, in comparison, contains higher amounts of Vitamin A and D. This might be crucial for those who get little of these vitamins from food (or little D from the sun).
Most people complain about the horrible after taste and “fishy burps” they feel after they take fish oil. This is, however, only a common occurrence among those who take fish oil instead of krill oil.
I often swallow a tablespoon of cod liver oil every day (caps are for wussies, I said) but now that I moved to krill oil capsules I don’t think I’ll be returning to that. Yuck.
Due to its high antioxidant content, krill oil is less likely to go rancid. Compared to fish oil, it has forty-eight times the number of anti-oxidants, as calculated by the ORAC value.
Regrettably, because of many people polluting some parts of the oceans, animals in the ocean, including fishes have been infected by pollution.
The animals which are high in the food chain eat the animals that are below them in the food chain, which way the harmful toxins build up in the bigger fish.
Krill is much below on the sea’s food chain, even lower than fish; this means that it contains less contaminants in comparison with fish.
Different brands of fish oil will have different amounts of contaminants, but this shouldn’t freak you out. Even if they contain a very little amount of pollution, the health benefits will still much outweigh the unwanted effects.
So to conclude this, I can say that krill oil is the better supplier of Omega 3 fatty acids, much better than fish oil, which I have been taking for many years.
I have recently moved to krill oil. Sure, it is a little costly, but it’s worthwhile.
